Begode Master Review: V2 to V4 Versions, Real Range, Price and Weak Points

The Begode Master is the cheapest way into a 3,500 W, 2,400 Wh electric unicycle with air suspension and a 20-inch tire, and that is why it keeps showing up in searches even though one retailer says newer Begode wheels have superseded it. It is also a wheel with a lot of versions, three different weight figures and no independent range test. This review sorts out which Master is which, what is actually known about its range and speed, where it breaks and what it costs.
We did not ride this wheel ourselves. The specs come from eRideHero and the retailers named in the sources; the ride impressions come from a Freshly Charged review and an owner's forum post from 2022. Neither source reports a measured range, so every range figure below is a claim or an owner estimate.
Which Master is it?
- Master V2 and V3: the versions sold by ewheels as "Master V2/3", with a 3,500 W C38 motor and a choice of Samsung 50E cells (2,400 Wh, 10 A output) or Samsung 40T cells (1,920 Wh, 35 A output). The V3 variant uses Begode's own BMS and two-position linkages for adjustable geometry.
- Master V4: listed by Alien Rides with Samsung 50S cells and 2,400 Wh. It adds 36 MOSFETs instead of 24, metal battery boxes, improved suspension linkages and a street tire. ewheels says the V4 has been superseded by the Begode Blitz.
- Master Pro: a bigger wheel. ewheels lists the Master Pro V2/3 with a 4,800 Wh battery, a 5,000 W motor and a 22-inch tire at $2,999, and Alien Rides listed a Master Pro as unavailable. It is a different purchase, so check the name carefully.
OneRide's Begode category, which we checked, did not list a Master at all.

Range and speed: what is really known
The 90-mile figure is a claim, and it does not survive simple arithmetic. It would need about 27 Wh per mile from a 2,400 Wh pack. The KingSong S22 Pro, which eRideHero did test, used about 53 Wh per mile on a similar pack (42.1 miles from 2,220 Wh). If the Master consumed the same, we would expect roughly 45 miles. This is our own estimate, not a measurement.
The only owner numbers we found are older and rough: a forum owner estimated about 30 miles when riding at 30 to 40 mph and closer to 40 miles at about 20 mph, then lowered the estimate later without giving a new one. That owner also reported that the wheel started leaning to one side between 40 and 50 mph with the off-road tire and avoided those speeds. Treat the 50 mph figure as a limit, not a cruising speed.
Ride and suspension
Owners like the suspension: the forum owner called it a game changer on rough ground, and Freshly Charged found the ride smooth and very comfortable, especially seated, with good power and possibly more to unlock. The catch is that the stock suspension bottoms out and is hard to pump above 200 psi; Freshly Charged says it needs about 280 psi for good results. The same owner broke the stock pump, rated to 300 psi, by pushing toward 325 psi and switched to a 600 psi pump. If the suspension goes flat within minutes, tightening the valve core fixed a leak in that case.
Where it breaks
- Plastic parts. Freshly Charged says the headlight, tail light, rear fender and kickstand break easily on impact, and calls the Master just as fragile as the KingSong S20 and S22. Its expected failure order on trail-ridden wheels is tail light, top foam pad, rear fender, headlight, then kickstand.
- Fit and finish. The reviewer found it lacking, the foam pads are not adjustable and tear easily, and the trolley handle can pop up on large drops.
- Features. The headlight is weak, the display is metric only, and there is no USB charging.
- Batteries. ewheels says its own packs add temperature probes, over-temperature buzzers, water-protective resin and in-line fuses, and that they replaced earlier LG 21700 packs after a recall. We did not find the recall elsewhere, so ask the seller which pack you are getting.
Price check
| Store | Version | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| ewheels | Master V2/3, 50E or 40T | $1,999 (list $3,250) | In stock |
| ewheels | Master V3, 50E | $2,099 | Begode BMS, two-position linkages |
| Alien Rides | Master V4, 50S | $2,299 (list $2,899) | Pre-order; options sold out |
| Speedy Feet (UK) | Master V2 | £2,162.50 | Unavailable when we checked |
The cheapest option works out to about $0.83 per watt-hour of battery for the 2,400 Wh pack and about $1.04 for the 1,920 Wh pack at the same price. The V4 at $2,299 is about $0.96 per watt-hour.
Parts are not cheap next to the price of the wheel. Begode's own parts store lists a Master V4 / Master Pro mainboard at $423, and retailers list a kickstand at $65 to $72 and a display at $62 to $100.
Who it suits
Buy it if you want a lot of battery and an air-sprung 20-inch wheel for the least money, you are happy to pump the suspension high and you do not mind replacing plastic parts. Skip it if you need a tested range figure, a rain-rated wheel or a wheel that retailers still describe as current.
Check your national rules before riding on a public road, because rules for unicycles differ a lot between countries.

- Tire: 2.75-14 (20-inch) in the title, 18 by 3 inches in the spec text.
- Motor: 3,500 W is peak on eRideHero and the only figure elsewhere; no nominal rating was found.
