Dualtron Thunder 3 vs Storm vs Victor: Tested Numbers, Real Prices

Dualtron Thunder 3 vs Storm vs Victor: Tested Numbers, Real Prices

Dualtron is the brand riders mean when they say "hyper scooter", and three of its models cover most of the shopping: the Thunder 3 (the do-it-all flagship), the Storm (the swappable-battery speed machine) and the Victor (the lighter dual-motor entry). They are far apart in price and weight, and the spec sheets published by different shops disagree with each other more than for almost any other scooter. This comparison sticks to independent test numbers where they exist and flags everything else as a claim.

We did not ride these scooters ourselves. The tests quoted below come from eRideHero (Thunder 3) and RiderGuide (Storm); we found no independent test for the Victor.

Know your version

Dualtron sells the same names with different batteries in different markets, and the Storm family has several versions (Storm, New Storm, Storm LTD). The figures below are for these builds:

  • Thunder 3, US: 72 V, 40 Ah, 2,880 Wh. The French shop wee-bot lists a European build with 42.4 Ah and 3,053 Wh.
  • Storm: 72 V, 31.5 Ah, 2,268 Wh, removable. The "New Storm" and "Storm LTD" are reported with a bigger 35 Ah pack, so check which one you are buying.
  • Victor (Gen 2): 60 V, 30 Ah, 1,800 Wh in the US; wee-bot lists 31.8 Ah and 1,908 Wh.

Dualtron Thunder 3

The Thunder 3 is the strongest all-rounder of the three. eRideHero measured a top speed of 61.4 mph, a 0 to 30 mph time of 3.7 seconds and 53.6 miles of range in regular riding with a 175 lb rider, against the 100 miles some pages claim. Dualtron USA itself shows both 80 and 100 miles, so treat the lower figure as the honest one.

The hardware is the heaviest too: 112.9 lb, 11-inch tubeless tires, hydraulic suspension and 4-piston Nutt brakes with 160 mm rotors. Water resistance is IPX5. Maximum rider weight is 265 lb according to eRideHero and 330 lb according to Dualtron USA, so check the manual.

Dualtron Storm

The Storm is the odd one out: a 101 lb scooter with a removable 2,268 Wh battery. RiderGuide called the swappable pack the surprising feature, and suggested two spare batteries could stretch a ride past 100 miles.

RiderGuide's tests were less flattering than the claims: 51.6 mph instead of 62, and 43.6 miles of range instead of 75. Acceleration is still quick (0 to 30 mph in 4.9 seconds), the 15 to 0 mph braking distance was 10.7 ft, and the scooter weighed 103 lb on the scale. The reviewer liked the build quality and the adjustable rubber suspension, and disliked the abrupt throttle and the short, creaky stem. Other reviews mention that the deck has drainage holes and that the rotor is not corrosion-coated, so keep it out of the rain.

The Storm is also the most expensive: $4,490 in the US, against $3,299 for the Thunder 3.

Dualtron Victor

The Victor is the practical one: 73 lb, 60 V and 1,800 Wh, with 10-inch tires. It has two 2,000 W nominal motors, hydraulic brakes with regenerative braking, and a claimed 62 miles of range and 45 mph. We found no independent test numbers for it, so all of that is a manufacturer claim.

Its real advantage is price. At €1,550 in France it costs about half of a Thunder 3, and at 73 lb it is about a third lighter than the Thunder 3. Watch the details: the US spec has springs and tubed tires, while the French shop lists a tubeless tire and a front cartridge suspension, so the Victor Gen 2 and the 2026 European build are not identical.

Price per watt-hour

Using the prices above, the US cost per Wh of battery is about $1.15 for the Thunder 3, $1.50 for the Victor and $1.98 for the Storm. In France it is about €0.95 for the Thunder 3 and €0.81 for the Victor. Range per kWh looks similar for the two tested models (about 18.6 miles per kWh for the Thunder 3 and 19.2 for the Storm), but the tests used different riders and routes, so do not read too much into the gap.

Which one for whom

  • Thunder 3: if you want the fastest and longest-range scooter of the three at a lower price than the Storm.
  • Storm: if you value a swappable battery and a lighter frame, and accept the price and the lower tested range.
  • Victor: if you want a dual-motor scooter you can still lift, at a much lower price, and you do not need 60 mph.

Road legality

None of these scooters is a road-legal commuter in most of Europe at full power. The French shop wee-bot marks the Thunder 3 as forbidden on public roads and quotes a 25 km/h limit for road use. In Italy, for example, scooters are limited to 0.50 kW of continuous nominal power. Check your national rules before you ride one outside private land.

Where the sources disagree

  • Thunder 3 battery: 40 Ah (US) or 42.4 Ah (France); the cell brand is given as LG on one page and Samsung on another.
  • Thunder 3 speed and range: 62 or 63 mph and 80 or 100 miles on the same Dualtron USA page.
  • Storm motor power: 6,640 W is called peak, total or continuous depending on the source.
  • Victor price: $2,699 comes from a US retailer comparison page, and we could not confirm a current manufacturer price.
