NAVEE NT5 Max vs Segway Ninebot Max G3: Claims Against Tested Numbers

The NAVEE NT5 Max and the Segway Ninebot Max G3 are two heavy-duty commuter scooters with almost the same battery (about 597 Wh), almost the same motor (800 to 850 W, around 2,000 W peak) and the same IPX6 water rating. They also cost about the same. The big difference is the evidence: the Max G3 has independent test data, while for the NT5 Max we found only manufacturer claims. This comparison puts the two side by side and says clearly which numbers are tested and which are not.
We did not ride either scooter. The Max G3 numbers come from eRideHero's tests (see our separate Max G3 review for the detail); the NT5 Max numbers come from NAVEE's US and EU stores, eRideHero's spec page, RiderGuide and ScooterRank, none of which published a test of the NT5 Max.

What the numbers really tell you
The two batteries are the same size, so real-world range should be close. NAVEE's own US page gives two range figures: 51.6 miles at 9.3 mph and only 21.8 miles at 24.9 mph. The Max G3 tested at 24.9 miles in regular mode and 19.7 miles in fast mode. In other words, at normal commuting speeds both scooters should give you roughly 20 to 25 miles, not 50. NAVEE's FAQ also quotes a real-world range of 30 to 42 miles, which is the vendor's estimate, not a test.
The only independent-looking figure we found for the NT5 Max is a single community report on ScooterRank of about 19 miles (30 km). One report is a hint, not a result.
Top speed is a claim for the NT5 Max (31 mph) and a measurement for the Max G3 (28 mph). The speed gap is small enough that you should not pay more for it.
Weight and portability
This is the biggest practical gap. The NT5 Max weighs 72.1 lb in the US and 33.5 kg in the EU version; the Max G3 weighs 54.2 lb in the US and 24.3 kg in the EU. That is about 18 lb or 9 kg more to lift. The NT5 Max folds to 1,250 by 625 by 645 mm, and eRideHero says its handlebars do not fold. The Max G3's folded length is 48 in (122 cm), so neither is compact. Plan to wheel either one, not carry it.
Suspension, tires and brakes: sources disagree
The Max G3 has dual hydraulic suspension and self-healing 11-inch tires. For the NT5 Max the sources contradict each other. eRideHero lists a front fork and a rear spring that are not adjustable, a tire that is not self-healing and mechanical discs. NAVEE's EU page lists dual damping arms with 70 mm of travel, a self-sealing tubeless tire and 140 mm discs with electronic braking. NAVEE markets the NT5 Max as an off-road scooter, but we cannot tell you which description is right until someone tests it.
The EU versions
The EU NT5 Max is limited to 25 km/h with factory modes of 15, 20 and 25 km/h. NAVEE lists it at 700 W rated and 1,600 W maximum with a 561.6 Wh battery, and claims 85 km at 15 km/h, 75 km at 20 km/h and 53 km at 25 km/h. The EU Max G3 is also limited to 25 km/h, with up to 75 to 80 km claimed under gentle conditions. Both are manufacturer claims, and the Max G3's is calculated for a 75 kg rider at 15 km/h; do not plan a commute around either.
Local power limits matter. Italy, for example, caps scooters at 0.50 kW of continuous nominal power. The EU NT5 Max is rated at 700 W, and the EU Max G3 page we read lists no nominal power, so check the exact model against your national rules.
Smart features
The Max G3 has Bluetooth unlocking (AirLock), Apple Find My, a color display, cruise control and over-the-air updates. NAVEE's EU page lists an app with remote locking, Bluetooth, Apple Find My on iOS and proximity unlock. eRideHero's list for the US version says the NT5 Max has no cruise control, NFC unlock, over-the-air updates or location tracking, while ScooterRank lists cruise control, so check which version has which.

Which one for whom
- NT5 Max: if price matters most, you ride on rough pavement, you can store it at street level and you accept that its range and braking have not been independently tested.
- Max G3: if you want measured numbers, a lighter scooter you can move in an elevator and a better-documented suspension, at a slightly higher price.
Where the sources disagree
- NT5 Max battery: 596.7 Wh, 597 Wh, 561.6 Wh for the EU version, and 516.6 Wh in one table on NAVEE's EU page.
- NT5 Max range: 51.6 miles, 83 km, 85 km or 90 km, depending on the page and the speed assumed.
- NT5 Max hill climb: 32% in the US store, 28% in the EU store and 17.7 degrees on eRideHero.
- NT5 Max tires and brakes: self-sealing or not, mechanical discs or electronic braking, depending on the page.
- NT5 Max weight: 72.1 lb, 32.7 kg or 33.5 kg.
